By ordering from Viscount Wines & Liquor you affirm you are over 21 years of age. You also affirm that you or someone else over 21 will be preparing to show identification to UPS as proof of age to sign for and receive a shipment containing alcohol from us.
We reserve the right to cancel or amend any order for any reason before shipment even if your credit card has been charged, in which case a partial or full refund would be issued.
Viscount is not responsible for typographical errors. On very rare occasions, our online inventory may not be correct or certain items may deplete before our web store syncs with our physical inventory.
PROVENANCE
Low prices are important, but be careful of where you buy! Counterfeiting wine has exploded into an enormously lucrative illicit activity in recent years. Every so often, one of our local customers solicits our opinion on a questionable bottle that has been purchased off the web or via auction.
Because Viscount buys directly from wholesalers, distributors or importers who are authorized to handle the labels we sell, you can rest easy that our stock didn't originate from questionable sources.
Additionally, we maintain a 1200 square-foot climate-controlled "cellar" on our premises to assure that our inventory is kept in "as perfect as possible" condition.
FINE WINE SHIPPING
Viscount currently ships wine via UPS to the following states ONLY:
Alaska, California, District of Columbia, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oregon, Wyoming and within New York State.
We are constantly monitoring legislation to be able to legally ship to as many states as possible and are in the process of obtaining shipping licenses for three other states, so stay tuned!
We currently offer the following shipping services through UPS: Ground, 3 Day Select, 2nd Day Air, Next Day Air A.M. and Next Day Air P.M. Not all services may be offered to all addresses.
If after three unsuccessful delivery attempts your shipment is returned to us as undeliverable, an additional charge will apply to re-ship the order and we will not refund the original shipping charge unless we determine that we have made an error. Since an adult over 21 must be present when the wine is delivered, many customers find it easier to ship to a business, rather than residential, address.
We cannot ship to P.O. boxes.
Shipping charges for our shopping cart are calculated by weight and include handling and insurance. For very rare, valuable, or costly wines, Viscount reserves the right to require extra insurance at an additional charge. We will contact you in this case. Shipping wine can be more expensive than for other products, requiring special packaging, compliance checks and adult signature fees; nevertheless we endeavor to keep our shipping fees as low as possible.

Viscount uses shipping boxes that are UPS and Fed Ex approved. Nevertheless, despite careful handling, breakage occasionally occurs during shipment. Keep in mind that since fine wine is often a rare commodity, it may not be able to be replaced with the same vintage should damage occur in transit.
Please realize that shipments may travel in non-climate controlled vehicles or facilities and be aware that fine wine can be at risk when subjected to extremely cold or hot temperatures. For this reason, we prefer to ship early in the week for long-distance shipments so that the wine is not likely to sit in a warehouse over the weekend. Viscount is NOT responsible for the quality of items once they have left the premises.
In most cases your wine will ship within 24-48 hours. If we believe the wine won't arrive at your destination by Friday of the current week, we will hold the wine for shipment the following Monday. If you are in a hurry and still want to risk shipment, please contact us after you've placed your order at (845) 298-0555 or shipping@viscountwines.com. Similarly, if you want us to hold your order for a short period until the weather improves, please let us know.
Some states may have shipping volume restrictions, typically for a given period of time i.e., in a calendar month or year. We will contact you for instructions if your order needs to be held or amended in order to be compliant with regulations of the state you are shipping to.
Shipping estimates from UPS are not guaranteed, especially just before and during holidays and other busy times of year. If you require a shipment from us by a certain date and can't afford to wait an extra day or two, please consider a quicker mode of delivery, i.e., 3 Day Select rather than Ground.
Viscount will accept returns in merchandise purchased within 30 days for exchange or credit as long as the merchandise remains saleable by having been stored appropriately so as to ensure that the product and packaging have not been damaged in any way.
Unless due to an error on our part, all returns are subject to a restocking fee of 10% of the purchase price of the item(s).
Returned items must be in the original shipping box with the UPS "Adult Signature Required" alcohol beverage label still affixed. Viscount will arrange a return shipping label to be sent to the customer. The customer must arrange to get the box to an appropriate UPS shipping facility.
All returns will be at the discretion of management and require prior approval.
